Spice School: Blending Bar

Start the New Year off right by stepping into our culinary bookstore and classroom for the debut of Curio’s Winter Spice School. In this densely-packed 75 minute workshop Curio’s founder will guide you through a flavor journey, as well as show you how to create your own expressive & personalized spice mix!

Your evening includes:

• An introduction to Curio’s rare, directly sourced spices
• Complimentary spiced drinks and popcorn
• Your own Curio Spice Flavor Wheel (with a lesson on how to use it)
• A short lecture/slide show from Curio's founder and blender-in-chief Claire Cheney on flavor
• Hands-on blending at our new "Spice Bar" which evokes the feeling of walking through a historic spice bazaar! Create and take home your own unique signature blend!

Directions: The Spice Lab is immediately adjacent to our spice shop, at 2267 Massachusetts Ave. Metered parking is available along Mass Ave, or there is a lot at the intersection of Day Street and Herbert Street towards Davis Square if you don't mind a quick walk!

Claire Cheney founded Curio Spice Co. in 2015 to source spices directly from small sustainable and socially responsible farms and share their stories through her unique blends. She's worked in the specialty food and restaurant industry since 2008 and has spent years hunting spices all over the globe.
