Folk Music and the Nordic Newcomers: 1st Generation Swedish Immigrants in the Upper Midwest

✨ Join us at the library as we delve into Swedish history through live music with Renee Vaughan as part of our annual ECRL Reads program!

🎼 We'll explore how Swedish musicians who immigrated to the Upper Midwest (late 1800s–early 1900s) shaped regional traditions with fiddles, button boxes, nyckelharpas, and bagpipes—leaving a legacy in both Minnesota and Sweden.
