Come sketch with us! In conjunction with our special exhibition Sketch, Shade, Smudge: Drawing from Gray to Black (September 12, 2025–January 18, 2026) and in partnership with the organization Life Drawing Boston, the Harvard Art Museums invite you to a live sketching session in the Calderwood Courtyard. This all-skills-welcome event features a live model, and David London, from Life Drawing Boston, will be on hand to offer drawing tips and support.
There will be three separate 30-minute sessions offered. These sessions are free, open to the public, and designed for all who want to sketch, regardless of their artistic experience.
We ask that you bring your own materials. If needed, basic drawing supplies will be available. Please note our guidelines:
• Only sketchpads and graphite pencils are permitted.
• No pens, charcoal, pastels, ink, or paint are allowed.
Please review the Harvard Art Museums Drawing Policy before attending.
Free admission, but registration is required.
There are three slots available for registration:
Session 1: 11–11:30am
Session 2: 11:45am–12:15pm
Session 3: 12:30–1pm
Registering for multiple sessions is allowed. You can register by clicking on the session(s) you want on this form, beginning Thursday, December 4, at 10am.
