Friluftsliv (“free–loofts-liv”) is Scandinavian for “open air life”.
The public is invited to join Anoka-Ramsey Community College faculty, staff and students for an evening of walking, hiking, or skiing along two miles of candlelit trails along the Rum River.
The cross-country ski trails will be lined with luminaries in the Spirit River Nature Area where you can ski, snowshoe, hike, or pull your little ones in sleds.
Warm up at the campfires and make s’mores, drink hot cocoa, play outdoor winter games, and sled with your kids down the hills behind the college.
Enjoy live music with Drew Peterson on the heated outdoor patio. Drew Peterson is a seasoned Americana artist with over 20 years of touring experience, known for his clever songwriting, dry humor, and heartfelt performances. Drew has fronted beloved Minnesota acts like Forty Watt Bulb, The Dead Pigeons, and Boxstore Bird. With lyrics that blend wit, warmth, and honesty, Drew’s music bridges the gap between the rowdy and the reflective, always leaving audiences feeling a little more connected.
This event is free and open to the public. The campus cafe will be selling soups and other food items.
