About the event

Community Coppicing Day at Kirkton Wood
Coppicing is an ancient form of woodland management, which involves cutting stems of a tree on a regular basis to encourage regrowth, increase biodiversity, and provide a sustainable source of wood. Join us on Saturday 21 February to cut and process some hazel sticks, explore the woodlands, and hear from our teenage volunteers – the Teenage Dirtbags – about what they’ve been doing over the winter. This free event is open to everyone!

Tea, coffee and snacks available.
Please bring your own lunch.
