Over the past few years, mining has become a primary focus in Canada and around the world. There is a need and desire for critical minerals throughout the world and there is abundance in Western Canada.
Finning and Caterpillar are leading this sector with their equipment, technology, indigenous programs, and mine planning. Finning with the support of Caterpillar is leading the mining sector in product development and technology to support the mining community. Let us show you the latest advancements in open pit, underground and technology within this sector.
Speakers' Abstracts:
Geoff Schneider is a Product Manager at Finning Canada, supporting Caterpillar’s mining equipment portfolio. In his current role, Geoff is responsible for product strategy and market alignment across a range of mining solutions, helping customers enhance performance and productivity in both surface and underground operations.
Geoff holds a degree in Business Commerce and began his career at Finning in 2011. His experience spans a variety of roles in supply chain management, remanufacturing operations, and commercial proposals for mining equipment, giving him a well-rounded perspective on the business and technical aspects of the industry.
Based in Edmonton, Geoff brings a practical, customer-focused approach to commercial strategy, with a strong understanding of how technical solutions can drive meaningful business outcomes in the mining sector.
Muhammad Alam is a Product Manager at Finning Canada, where he leads product strategy and commercial initiatives for large mining trucks. Based in Edmonton, Muhammad is passionate about delivering customer-centric solutions that drive productivity and operational excellence in surface mining operations.
With a degree in Mining Engineering, Muhammad's background spans project coordination, mine site surveying, mine design, business development, and reliability engineering. Since joining Finning in 2021, he has worked closely with customers and cross-functional teams to align product offerings with the evolving needs of the mining industry.
Muhammad’s experience, both within Finning and across the broader mining sector equips him with a unique perspective translating customer pain points into actionable strategies that benefit both the business and the mining community.
