Legacy of Kindness: The 103-Year Story of Calgary Humane Society Since 1922.
Calgary Humane Society has been a pillar of compassion and a champion for animal welfare in our city. Legacy of Kindness invites you on a journey through more than a century of advocacy, innovation, and care. Discover how the organization began with a small group of passionate citizens and grew into a vital community institution—supporting animals through sheltering, education, and outreach. As the only animal welfare organization in Calgary appointed to enforce the Animal Protection Act of Alberta, Calgary Humane Society has played a crucial role in protecting vulnerable animals and holding offenders accountable. This presentation traces Calgary Humane Society’s transformative work across the decades and highlights the enduring commitment to creating a more humane world for both animals and people.
Presented in Partnership with the Chinook Country Historical Society. https://www.chinookhistory.ca/
