Victoria-based Jesse has a penchant for writing modern indie-infused blues music and delivering bombastic live performances buoyed by his virtuosic guitar playing. The stage has been his home since overcoming crippling stage fright during his early twenties; no longer part of this six-string soldier’s reality, who tears up the stage without a hint of second-guessing.

Roper’s forthcoming (September 26, 2025) album Way Down In the Valley marks a sonic career high point. Working closely with famed JUNO-nominated producer Gus van Go (The Beaches, Metric, Arkells, The Trews, Sam Roberts) has pushed Roper into a whole new level. A master at connecting his personal story and experiences to his songwriting, he crafts narratives that hit on life's challenges and eccentricities – through adventurous, soulful and wildly entertaining songs.
