About the event

Building a Home in the Arctic for Franklin Expedition Artifacts
Campbell Cameron (a born and raised Bragg Creeker) will be sharing his experience working as a Project Manager / Engineer in the Canadian Arctic. For the last four years Campbell has been managing the construction of the Nattilik Heritage Centre Expansion in Gjoa Haven, Nunavut. The Expansion plans were a result of the recent discovery of the 1845 Franklin Expedition shipwrecks. As part owners of the recovered artifacts, the Hamlet of Gjoa Haven needed a new exhibit and display area to house them. Campbell will speak about what he has learned of the 1845 Franklin Expedition, Nunavut heritage and culture, construction in the Arctic, and the realities of working and living in Canada's North.
