4-week Beginner Hand-building Course (OCTOBER)

Learn the basics with us on Sundays!

This four-week course is structured to help you develop basic ceramic hand-building skills and to bring your ideas to fruition.

We will cover hand-building techniques, including coil, pinch, slab, and template creation.

This course will focus on learning and building skills, so the number of pieces you make in each class will vary. Each class is three hours long to allow sufficient time for the class demo and for creating and troubleshooting techniques.

This course will focus on creating functional and decorative work.

Pieces will be created with one type of clay and decorated with coloured underglazes in the last week.

Clay, tools, and other materials are provided.

October 5, 2025- Week One: Intro to Pinch Pots

October 12, 2025- Week Two: Intro to Coil Building

Octoberber 19, 2025- Week Three: Intro to Slab Building

October 26, 2025- Week Four: Intro to Underglaze Decoration.

Your pieces will be glazed and fired after course completion.

You do not need any experience whatsoever! If you have some experience but not a whole bunch, this class will be perfect for you, too.

Please note: only the FIRST date of the session is listed when signing up. You only need to book in for the first date of the session, and you will be automatically signed up for all 6 consecutive weeks.

Does one of your course dates fall over the week when there's a public holiday? No worries, that class date will just be pushed back a week :)

*If one of your course dates falls on a public holiday, your course will resume the following week and pick up where you left off. For example, if the third week of a course falls on Labour Day (September 1), that fifth week will take place the following week, skipping the public holiday.

You must be 18 years or older to attend, and class sizes are strictly limited
