Pottery Wheel – 4 week beginners course:
During this 4 week throwing course you will work on your own potters wheel. Each session will start with clay preparation, followed by a demonstration by Melanie Made Mud. You will then have time to practice yourselves and be given guidance as needed.
17th November, 18:00-20:30
Clay preparation and wedging, centring the clay and throwing simple beakers and bowl
24th November, 18:00-20:30
Turn and finish one of your pieces from week 1, make and attach a handle to make a cup.
1st December, 18:00-20:30
Continue practicing throwing.
8th December, 18:00-20:30
Glazing
Throwing can be very messy so it is best to come to the classes in clothes and footwear you don’t mind getting dirty. It is best to remove watches and jewellery, long hair tied back and fingernails kept short.
Glazed pottery can be collected 2 weeks after the course ends, we will contact you to arrange collection
