Roll through on Saturday, August 9th from 2–4 PM for the Fifth Annual Skate 4 Life at the Calais Skatepark, brought to you by the Brendan Leddy Memorial Fund. This free event is open to all ages, all skill levels, and all things action sports—skateboarding, scootering, BMX, and blading. It’s all going down, and it’s all for a good cause.
We’re talking jams, tricks, and good vibes with a ton of prizes up for grabs and multiple deck giveaways throughout the day. Whether you're throwing down or just cruising, come be part of the session.
There will be local organizations present at the park to hand out informational material, swag, and to answer questions about mental health awareness.
Never stepped on a board? No worries. We’ll have free skate lessons for youth, plus loaner gear—skateboards, a scooter, a BMX bike, even helmets and pads—so you can jump in and give it a shot.
Our friends at Undertow from Machias will be setting up shop with skate gear and goods for sale right at the park.
Our mission reads - Provide assistance and funding to skateparks, provide scholarships, and make charitable donations to organizations and communities. We do this to forever honor the fallen members of the Calais Skatepark Committee through community involvement. 10% of all proceeds are donated to help fund suicide prevention, mental health services, and veteran services.
