Writing Workshop with Gillian Poucher - How to Create Compelling Characters

Unforgettable characters strengthen stories. In this workshop we’ll brainstorm how to create memorable characters. We’ll think about the role of support acts and flat characters before imagining new characters or strengthening our existing characters.

The programme is designed for beginners and more advanced writers, for those who enjoy writing as a hobby and those who hope to be published. All workshops are standalone so that you can attend as many as you like.

Reading the novels for the ‘Reading as a Writer’ sessions is recommended. The focus here is on what we can learn from these novels as writers.
