Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz-North Bend State Park

Thanks to the National Recreation and Park Association, North Bend State Park is hosting a BioBlitz for the entire month of September, 2025. This is an event where community members work with park staff, or on their own, to create a snapshot of the variety of wildlife that can be found in North Bend. We use a no-cost platform/app called iNaturalist to take pictures of plants, insects, and animals to see what wildlife is present and provide us with more information about pollinators. When you sign up for your iNaturalist observations to count towards our BioBlitz, it provides the national organization with specific, important information about our park they may not otherwise get.

The Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz is a national effort for people to find and document pollinator friendly plants and pollinators across the country. It's a national campaign to see who can make the most observations, and promote pollinator awareness and education. The results not only make an impact for awareness of pollinators, but they also help agencies know what pollinator and plant species are in their parks and helps them plan for how to protect them and promote diversity.
