Artist’s Studio Workshop

Join us for a hands-on, 6-day immersive workshop and get the full HandOver Design & Build experience from start to finish! Together, we'll design the studio, experiment with our materials, and build a full-scale rammed earth wall for an artist's backyard studio.

Location: Private Garden, El Sherouk, Cairo
Dates: Saturday 21st of June - Thursday 26th of June. (6 Days)

Program
Day 1:
Introduction of the Workshop
Understand the principles of earth construction, learn earth construction techniques with examples from all over the world.
Designing the studio/room - and finalizing dimensions for the wall openings.

Day 2:
Mixture, Tests, and Preparation (On site)
Learning about the different components, experiment with mixtures, and build the formwork for the rammed earth wall.

Days 3,4,5, and 6: Building the wall, removing and reassembling the formwork to build the upper part of the wall. Dismantling the formwork and curing the wall.
