The Polzin's own Down to Earth Garden Center and have been growing giant fruits for 5 years. Their house is located near the original family farm where Down to Earth still grows many of its perennials and annuals. Using the knowledge gained in the horticulture industry, they enjoy growing as a family and the time together in the garden after work. This year they are growing 4 giant pumpkins, giant tomatoes, and a few giant field pumpkins. Come see the differences between growing in a high tunnel vs growing outside. One pumpkin will also be growing on a scale.

Shannon and Jodi Engel. Shannon has been growing Giant Pumpkins since 2001. Shannon is known for his large, beautiful, Howard Dill Award-winning pumpkins. They live in town and maintain a 2500 sq ft patch in their backyard. Jodi is known for her infamous cupcakes and her impressive pumpkin carving skills.

Brian Turner is in his fifth year of growing giant pumpkins. The Turners live on 11 acres that were once part of Brian’s family’s dairy farm, where he grew up. This year, Brian is growing three giant pumpkins in a brand-new 3,000-square-foot patch. Along with growing giant pumpkins, the Turners are trying to get their property setup for horses and chickens this summer.
