Cabot Arts, in partnership with the Summit School of Traditioanl Music and Culture, is pleased to announce the 2nd annual, Green Mountain Oldtime Workshop Weekend.

The 2nd annual Green Mountain Oldtime Workshop Weekend will feature an array of music workshops, dances, concerts, and jam sessions. Workshops in oldtime and Cajun fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass and harmony singing will be given. Teachers include regional favorites, Ida Mae Specker, Jenny Monfore, and TomMackenzie, plus Pointe Noir Cajun Band.
Participants are in for a weekend chock-full of old-time Appalachian and Cajun stringband music, dance, food, community, celebration and education. Venues include the Willey Building auditorium and meeting room, plus workshop and jam session spaces at Harry’s Hardware and the Cabot United Church. On Sunday, Harry’s Hardware and the Willey Building Auditorium will host the well-known oldtime jam sessions.
The Green Mountain Oldtime Workshop Weekend is a collaborative project between Cabot Arts and the Summit School of Traditional Music and Culture. The goal of this project is to revitalize fiddle traditions in Central Vermont.
