-O'Neal was the only white player to pitch for two Negro League teams
-He played for the Biloxi Dodgers in the Gulf Coast Negro League and the San Antonio Black Sox in the South Texas Negro League during the 1970s.
-His book was placed in the baseball Hall of Fame Library in Cooperstown, New York in April of 2009.
