With over 34 years of experience as a park ranger, manager, and regional interpretive specialist, Steve brings a wealth of knowledge, storytelling, and down to earth expertise to this flavorful craft.
In this interactive class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of curing and preparing your own bacon at home. From selecting the right cut of pork to applying the perfect balance of salt, sugar, and spices, Steve will guide you step by step through the curing process. You’ll also gain insight into smoking techniques and traditional preservation methods. This class is $35 per person and has limited spots.
