Step back in time and experience life in 17th-century New England!
Join us at the Museums at Aptucxet for History in Action, a full day of living history featuring the New Plimmoth Gard, portraying the early colonial militia of Plymouth Colony.
At 11:00 AM, don't miss the New Plimmoth Gard’s main presentation, where they will demonstrate military drills, musket fire, and daily life in a 1600s militia unit.
But the action doesn’t stop there as reenactors will be on-site all day, sharing stories, answering questions and offering hands-on insight into colonial life.
Also happening throughout the day:
• Explore the historic Aptucxet Trading Post, Joseph Jefferson Windmill (now home to our Windmill Vintage Shop), and the Gray Gables Railroad Station
• Stop by the Gift Shop for unique items and keepsakes
• Let the kids enjoy hands-on activities at the Trading Post, including a fun and educational scavenger hunt
• Grab lunch at the Aptucxet Grill (11:00 AM to 1:00 PM) featuring hot dogs, grilled sausages, chips, and cold drinks
This family-friendly event is perfect for history buffs, curious kids, and anyone who loves a good story from the past.
