Historic Merchants and Movie Theaters on Main Street--A Walking Tour

Take a stroll down Butler’s Main Street from the Courthouse to North Street and back with historian and storyteller Bill May. History comes to life with fascinating stories behind the buildings, stores and movie theaters that once made Butler the quintessential small town. Troutman’s Department Store, Cumming’s Candy Shop, Benson’s, McCarrren’s, Miller's Shoes the Lyric, Capital and Penn Theaters and more will be featured on the tour and many others. You will be thrilled by the gripping Main Street tale of the sensational crime that led to the first women to be given the electric chair by the State of Pennsylvania.
