The Ghost Stories of M. R. James - A Radio Play for Stage

Come join us for a spine-chilling evening at the Bury St Edmunds Unitarian Meeting House as we bring to life the haunting tales of M. R. James in a unique radio play format. Get ready to be transported into the world of ghosts, and supernatural mystery as our talented cast performs these haunting stories live on stage.

This adapation will have the feel of a classic BBC Radio 4 full dramatised radio play. The cast of 8 actors will perform multiple characters at microphones. The performance will feature snippets of some of the most haunting pieces of classical, organ and choral music, and the stage will feature atmospheric lighting.

The play will begin at 8pm, doors open from 7:30pm. The play is approximately 1.5hrs with no interval.

Due to the nature of the piece, the adaptation of which is faithful to the stories, this event is recommended for children over 12+years, and adults. Warnings: lighting blackouts, flashes, references to spirits, ghosts, death.

Tickets are £10, reservations having been made on Eventbrite. Please note that we unfortunately do not have capacity at the venue to sell tickets on the night.

Refreshments will be available, please note that this event is cash-only as we do not have card-reader facilities. Please let the Front of House team know if you have any allergies or intolerances (unfortunately we cannot guarantee that refreshments are severe allergy safe).

The cast and crew of this production have generously given their time for no charge to perform for your entertainment.
