September History Happy Hour

📚🎶 Step into the rich traditions of Southern Appalachian dance at History Happy Hour on September 2nd at 6:30 PM at the Center for Pioneer Life!

We’re excited to welcome Phil Jamison — a nationally-known dance caller, old-time musician, flatfoot dancer, and author. For over five decades, Phil has performed, taught, and preserved the art of traditional dance and music across the U.S. and abroad.

Mr. Jamison will be discussing his acclaimed book, Hoedowns, Reels, and Frolics: Roots and Branches of Southern Appalachian Dance, sharing the fascinating history behind the dances, steps, and reels that have shaped our mountain culture.
