Dig In Yancey Community Garden and Grozome - Plant and Soil Probiotic join forces to present to you...
Exploring the Living Soil Beneath Our Feet
What to expect:
•Live microscope exploration of soil life! (if you haven't experienced this before, it can be life-changing)
•Easy-to-understand explanations of microbial roles and functions
•Big-picture connections between soil health, plant health, and ecological resilience
•A chance to ask questions and see the invisible world come alive
Join us for an immersive Micro-World Discovery Talk at the Downtown Burnsville Reconciliation House recreation center on Saturday, February 7 from 4–6 PM, where we’ll zoom into the hidden universe that makes healthy soil and healthy ecosystems possible.
Projecting a live microscope, we’ll explore soil samples and uncover the bustling community of bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and other microorganisms working together beneath the surface. These microscopic organisms drive nutrient cycling, build soil structure, protect plants from disease, and form partnerships with roots that have existed for hundreds of millions of years.
This interactive talk will connect what you see under the microscope to what happens in gardens, farms, forests, and even our own bodies. Whether you’re a gardener, grower, educator, or simply curious about how nature really works, this is an invitation to slow down, look closer, and rediscover the intelligence of nature.
Come curious, leave with a whole new perspective on the ground beneath your feet.
By donation.
