The Ethan Allen Homestead Museum presents the Thomas M. Achenbach Memorial Talk: “Was This Owned by Ethan Allen? A Look at the Artifacts (and Legacy) Ethan Allen Left Behind” by Katie Grant, Collections Manager at the Vermont Historical Society. This program is sponsored by the friends and family of the late Thomas M. Achenbach.

This event is free for all to attend; registration is not required. Q&A follows the presentation. Refreshments provided.

ABOUT THIS MONTH'S LECTURE:
Ethan Allen left a legacy in Vermont which has lasted for centuries. But did any of his physical belongings survive as long? How do historians prove the former ownership of historical artifacts? What can we learn about the man from the artifacts left behind?

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Katie Grant moved to Vermont in 2022 with her husband and dog. At the Vermont Historical Society, Grant oversees the historical society's object collections housed at the Vermont History Center in Barre. Grant is a graduate of Tufts University and the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture, and previously served as an archivist for the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries at Vanderbilt University.

The Thomas M. Achenbach Memorial Lecture is part of Free Monthly Lectures Program. The Homestead Monthly Lecture Program is free for all the attend. It covers various topics pertaining to Vermont history, early American history, and the Homestead site. Each lecture is followed by Q&A with the presenter.
