The Capitol Theater's Old Couch Music Festival is back for its 8th year, and this free street party is bringing all the energy to downtown Burlington. With food trucks serving up delicious eats and plenty of cold beer flowing, there’s no better way to spend a summer evening.
The Old Couch Music Festival was born in 2017 to showcase the best in local and regional Americana, folk, bluegrass, country, blues, and rock. Now a beloved tradition, this outdoor celebration draws hundreds of music lovers from near and far. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the party!

🎸The Tap Root Wranglers on the Main Stage
Inspired by the old-time sounds of Americana, bluegrass, and country swing, The Tap Root Wranglers will have you two-steppin’ all night long. With Carol Jean Trulson on mandolin, William Hope and Tina Hope on guitars, and CJ Spring on bass, this group brings an undeniable charm to any stage.
🎸Eric Pettit Lion on the Main Stage
Iowa’s alt-country legends, Eric Pettit Lion, blend Mississippi River-inspired melodies with vivid storytelling for a sound that’s as unique as it is captivating. Expect a mix of heartfelt tunes and infectious rhythms.
🎸Trophy Dads on the Main Stage
Get ready to rock out with Trophy Dads! This Solon-based band delivers an early ‘90s rock experience that’ll have you singing along to all your favorite classics. They may not be the best (their words not ours!) but they know how to throw a loud, wild party!
🎸Classic Reason under The Capitol Marquee
For all you classic rock fans, Classic Reason is bringing the jams! With Kent on drums, Joe on guitar, and Steve on bass, they’ll have you rocking out to timeless tunes throughout the evening between each Main Stage set.
