Waterwise Lawn Alternatives and Rebates

You're invited to discover how to transform your lawn into a stunning, sustainable landscape at a free program on Thursday, October 2. Say goodbye to brown grass and harmful plastic turf and learn about sustainable alternatives that save water and money, support local wildlife, are healthier for you and require minimal maintenance. This program will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Elm Room at the Burlingame Community Center at 850 Burlingame Ave. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required at https://bit.ly/LawnIdeas. Lemonade and homemade cookies will be served.

Presented by the Citizens Environmental Council and sponsored by the City of Burlingame and the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency )BAWSCA), "Waterwise Lawn Alternatives and Rebates" will featured landscaping expert Frank Niccoli, a crowd favorite who is a walking encyclopedia about native California plants. In addition to inspiring you with ideas for freshening your outdoor space, he'll discuss the downsides of artificial turf and explain how you can obtain rebates through BAWSCA's "Lawn Be Gone" and rain barrel programs.
