For anyone that new to hound rides below is a few pointers.
Hounds have right of way at all times - if a couple are trying to catch up, call out "ware hound" and "hound on the left/right", so that those ahead can get out of the way. If the pack passes the field, turn your horse's head towards them and keep kicking heels away at all costs. An essential piece of hunting etiquette.
Keep horses' heads TOWARDS the hounds at all times during the meet, or if you meet them on a road, so that they don't kick a hound.
If you think your horse might kick others, ALWAYS tie a red ribbon round the top of its tail as a warning to others to keep away from its hind legs. If a horse had a red ribbon please give it more room.
If your horse is likely to kick and has a ribbon, you must keep it at the back.
A green ribbon on the tail means a young or inexperienced horse.
πππBBQ and refreshments afterwards (cash only)
