There’s so many benefits to horses and people for just getting out on the trail and going for a walk.
Benefits to Humans:
- fitness
- developing feel and timing with horses
- establishing firm, fair and friendly boundaries (what I usually see as most lacking in horse-human interactions
- enjoying horses company doing something they enjoy
- spending time with horse community members who are not in the same lesson as you and networking with other horse enthusiasts
Benefits to Horses:
- fitness
- balance
- confidence on trail, around other horses in the herd, with leadership and following and just in general
- working with people in a way that doesn’t force the horse to “work”
Horses who would appreciate a walk:
- Maple
- Whinnie
- Pirate
- Tycoon
- Merida
- Hero
- Piglet
- Tow Truck
- Gnocchi
As they recover from injury: Branwen and Nugget
May be an image of 1 person and horse
Proper clothes:
- Boots, suggestion of waterproof if you do any creek crossings
- Shorts are fine but pants protect you from foliage
- Bug spray or hat
