Our special guests for Sunday, May 18 will be members of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater, showcasing brand new marionettes from their upcoming Choo Choo Revue, a musical variety show that captures the wonder of cross-country train travel and the magic just outside your window. In addition, they will be bringing some of their most iconic and beloved puppets for a joyful celebration of imagination, movement, and nostalgia. It’s a perfect pairing: the legacy of Walt’s love of trains meets Bob Baker’s timeless puppet magic. All aboard!
On display for viewing during your visit will be items Bob Baker created for Disney films, theme parks, and collectibles. Available for purchase will be copies of Enchanted Strings, a history of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater.
And, during your visit you are invited to tour Walt Disney's Carolwood Barn, Walt’s original home workshop and the birthplace of Imagineering. Displays include treasures from the backyard railroads of Walt Disney, Ward Kimball and Ollie Johnston, as well as an operating model of Disneyland's classic Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland attraction.
Also on the property are the restored Santa Fe and Disneyland Railroad combine car and Ollie Johnston's backyard La Canada Valley Railroad depot.
At 2:30pm you are invited to join us for our formal flag retreat ceremony to signal the close of our operating day.
The Carolwood Foundation is open to the public the third Sunday of each month from 11am to 3pm. Reservations and tickets are not required to visit Walt's Barn and associated displays at this time. Parking is free and available on a first come, first served basis.
