Spend a glorious morning in this 2 1/2 hour workshop creating a set of four coasters using the Sgraffito method of decorating pottery.
Learn a little of the history of sgraffito and practice your carving on a test piece then get down to designing and carving your coasters.
Everything you need to create will be supplied and your finished pieces will be glazed and fired by me and ready to pick up in around 3 weeks. I can also post your finished work for a fee.
What to bring: If you have specific ideas of what you want to carve bring a picture that you can use as a reference or even a template. You will be working on squares of clay 10cm x 10cm so keep that in mind. Please also bring an apron or wear clothes that can cope with underglaze and clay.
Something to note: My studio is down at the bottom of a hill on my property. Off street parking is available in the large gravel area in front of my home. Guests will need to walk down a dirt path that is a little windy and a little steep. If this wil be difficult for you please message me and we can work out a solution. I don't want you to miss out.
This workshop is best suited to ages 12 and up. Due to the nature of the workshop and the surrounds please do not bring young children.
