This Is Me – Stories of Culture, Connection & Community
📆 Sunday 20 July | 2:30pm
Harvey Capel Room, Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre
FREE | Complimentary food provided
Hosted by Bunbury Multicultural Group, This Is Me is a heartfelt afternoon of storytelling, connection and community.
Each year, we invite members of Bunbury’s migrant communities to share their experiences of settling in the South West, including what they've gained, what they've held onto, and what it means to belong.
This special edition of This Is Me coincides with BREC's Bunbury International Film Festival, and will take place right before a screening of the Thai film: How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies (PG).
The film’s themes of family and culture provide a perfect backdrop for this conversation.
Our Speakers:
✨ Shauna Willis (Emcee) – Beloved WA media personality with a 35-year career in regional news and storytelling
✨ Elizabeth Larkin – Anglicare Team Leader and parent of two Thai children, offering insights on adoption and cultural connection
✨ Nathrada Howard – Respected member of Bunbury’s Thai community, joined by a local Thai elder to share stories of tradition, resilience and community life
This is an informal gathering with light refreshments provided. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you’re part of the Thai community, have a love for stories, or simply want to listen and learn.
Please register via the ticket link attached.
