This workshop is designed especially for those new to yoga or returning after a break. Across 2.5 hours, you’ll be introduced to fundamental yoga poses, breathing techniques, and simple mindfulness practices in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Welcome & Introduction - Brief overview of yoga’s history, benefits, and what to expect.
Gentle Warm Up - Breath awareness (pranayama), gentle joint movements, and simple movements to prepare the body.
Foundational Poses (Asanas) Step-by-step guidelines to common beginner poses (e.g., Mountain, Downward Dog, Warrior, Child’s Pose, Cat-Cow, Cobra, and Seated Forward Bend). Focus on alignment, safety, and modifications for all bodies.
Short Break Time to hydrate, use the footpath outside for a quick stroll, and get ready for the next session.
Sun Salutations & Simple Flows - Learn and practise a basic sun salutation sequence, linking breath to movement. Introduction to simple flow (vinyasa) transitions.
Breathing & Relaxation - Explore breathing techniques including Deep Belly Breathing and Bumble Bee Breath.
Guided relaxation - Yoga Nidra to finish the session.
Q&A and Closing - Opportunity for questions, feedback, and resources for practising at home.
