Join us for a Summer Moose Day group hike tentatively scheduled for Friday, July 18.
The hike begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m.
Participants are asked to meet at the Upper North Crow Reservoir at 8 a.m. for the community hike.
We’ll start the hike with a short moose biology talk, and then we’ll conduct our Moose Day survey as a group while following Moose Day protocol. Participation in this guided hike does require the purchase of a daily Wyoming State Parks pass for Curt Gowdy.
This walk is coordinated by the UW Biodiversity Institute at Wyoming State Parks. Registration is not required.
We're still working out the details and confirmation for the community hike, so keep an eye on this event and our social media!

About Summer Moose Day program:
Winter and Summer Moose Day happen each year in the Laramie area, hosted by the UW Biodiversity Institute. Anyone in the Laramie area can sign up to participate in surveying our local moose. Register to adopt pre-determined route, watch the online Moose Day training, and then survey the route on a designated weekend. This year, you can go out July 19 or July 20 on a hiking or driving route in Snowy Range, Arlighton, or Vedauwoo / Happy Jack areas. By the end of that weekend, Moose Day volunteers will have collected valuable data that tells researchers where moose can be found and how likely they are to be found based on observable conditions!
