Spring Concert: Palestrina 500 at St. Louis Church

The St. John Paul II Schola Cantorum is very excited to present our new concert program entitled "Palestrina 500: Celebrating the Quincentenary Birthday of a Great Catholic Composer". Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina was born in 1525 and is considered one of the greatest Catholic choral composers. The second half of this concert will feature some of our favorite Palestrina choral works. In the first half of the program, we will celebrate Year 3 of the National Eucharistic Revival with some classic Eucharistic-themed motets including works by Durufle, Tallis, Lotti, Saint-Saens, Allegri and others.
We will perform this program in concert on Sunday, June 8 at 5:00 pm at the magnificent St. Louis Church at 780 Main Street in Buffalo. We hope you will join us!

The St. John Paul II Schola Cantorum is an independent, “a cappella” choir dedicated to preserving, promoting and performing sacred choral works from the great treasury of music of the Catholic Church.
