Restorative Justice Conferencing is an alternative to traditional punitive measures when harm has occurred. It is a voluntary process that focuses on the needs of those impacted, and strives to repair the harm with the accountability and support of the community.
Conferencing is used in schools, courts, and communities to lower the rates of suspension, reduce incidents of incarceration, and make amends between community members. Restorative Justice gives voice to those who have been harmed, rebuilds relationships, and equips community members with tools to bring about peace in their families, neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces.
Training participants will learn about the conferencing process, responding to conflict and harm, and role play to practice their skills with the support of the training facilitators.
Participants must attend 80% of the training to receive a certificate.
