Free showing - Moons: Worlds of Mystery
Please note this show is free and tickets are very limited. If you make a reservation and are unable to attend, please cancel these directly or let us know as soon as possible so that we may release seats to those who can.
This showing is part of our "The Universe, on Us" Series of Free Community Programs at the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium.
Our solar system has hundreds of moons not walked on! Take a journey through our solar system and explore the remarkable diversity — and surprising characteristics — of moons. From volcanoes and geysers to ice-covered oceans and methane rain, these natural satellites have some spectacular features, and many even exert a surprising influence on their planetary partners. Learn what these celestial bodies, plus our own Moon, reveal about the history and workings of our solar system in the fulldome program Moons: Worlds of Mystery. After the fulldome show, our Planetarium Educator will present a sky tour using our starball.
Program length is one hour and is recommended for visitors age 8 and up. Children under 5 are not permitted at this program.
Please arrive at least 5 minutes before show time, because late arrivals may not be seated for safety reasons in our darkened planetarium.
If you are not already familiar with the location of the planetarium, please be sure to understand our location using the map here on Eventbrite or here: Planetarium location in Google Maps For our public programs, you will be able to park in the I-37 parking lot off of Iroquois Drive directly next to Buffalo State University's Science and Math Complex which houses the planetarium.
