SPRING MOVEMENT WORKSHOP
by KALAND
📍 Budapest & surroundings
📅 April 10–12, 2026
We are happy to announce that Kaland is organising a three-day outdoor movement workshop across Budapest and its surrounding areas. Together, we will welcome spring by tickling its toes, shaking up the city through movement, and discovering hidden physical possibilities in urban and natural environments.
A playful, adventurous, experimental journey
During this workshop, we introduce physical practices that grow from the core philosophy of Kaland: movement as adventurous play, experience gathering, and creative discovery.
We work through a process where we:
-explore movement through playful experimentation
-recognise and collect discovered movement “treasures”
-develop and practice them as embodied skills
-share and expand them collectively
Throughout the workshop, we facilitate a horizontal and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, risk-taking, and personal exploration. The process may reveal unexpected abilities, hidden strengths, or new ways of relating to your body, space, and others.
What we work with
Kaland offers tools that expand:
physical awareness
ability to notice more and take the possibility
bold trying skills
grounded craziness
trust and cooperation
transilience
your fun center
Facilitators
Orsi Vágner is a movement artist, performer, and facilitator working with contemporary dance, site-specific performance, and community-based practices. Her work explores movement through play, spatial awareness, and interaction with urban and natural environments. She creates participatory workshops and performances combining improvisation, outdoor movement, and collaborative creation. Orsi is a core facilitator of the KALAND collective, developing movement-based workshops and projects that connect physical exploration, art, and community learning.
Verus Klausz is a movement artist, facilitator, and researcher working with dance, somatic practices, and participatory formats. Her work focuses on embodied experience, improvisation, and collective exploration, investigating how bodies relate to space, each other, and social contexts. Drawing from methods such as Feldenkrais, contact improvisation, and authentic movement, she explores how embodied knowledge supports personal agency and community building. Within KALAND, she develops artistic and pedagogical processes connecting movement, education, and shared experience.
About Kaland
Kaland means adventure in Hungarian — but not in the usual sense.
Kaland is a collective that explores how movement, play, environment, and community can meet. We create workshops, performances, participatory events, and educational projects that focus on physical play, site-specific thinking, and collective learning.
The Kaland has an attitude that is rooted in:
-curiosity instead of certainty
-play as a serious method of learning
-physical experience as knowledge
-shared creation instead of hierarchy
-openness to the unknown
-building community through movement
-fun
Kaland continuously develops its own artistic and pedagogical language through research, experimentation, and collaboration with diverse communities.
Who is this for?
The workshop is open to anyone curious about movement, play, and outdoor exploration. Previous dance or movement experience is not needed. What matters most is openness, curiosity, and willingness to explore together.
