A Koncz Kriszta Group első szerzői nagylemeze, a Travel in Time, bár sok egymástól különböző témát dolgoz fel, mégis tisztán kivehető arcéllel bír: mesél többek között gyermekkorról, szülő-gyerek kapcsolatról, a változás természetéről, az alkotás pillanatairól, elengedésről, a szerelem különböző formáiról, a munkálkodó időről. Az énekesnő saját, angol nyelven írott dalszövegei, ugyanúgy, mint maguk a dalok, a szerző személyes élményeire, vízióira reflektálnak. Az együttest alkotó nyolc művész közül a legtöbben hivatásos jazz-zenészek, azonban mindnyájan különböző zenei múlttal rendelkeznek: tanulmányaik és inspirációik között fellelhető a jazz mellett a klasszikus zene, a könnyűzene, a népzene és a színházi zene is -ebben a színes együttállásban szólalnak meg a Group dalai. A jazzben gyökerező, néhol a pop, néhol a hatvanas és hetvenes évek amerikai folk hangzását idéző zenei repertoár Tompa Ábel hangszerelői munkáját is dicséri. A zenekarvezető és névadó énekes, Koncz Kriszta által alapított együttes 2023-ban alakult. Első bemutatkozásukra a 2024-es Müpa Jazz Showcase keretén belül került sor, ahol közönségdíjban illetve Harcsa Veronika Díjban részesültek. Első szerzői lemezük 2025 februárjában debütált, “Travel in Time” címmel.

The Koncz Kriszta Group is a Hungarian jazz fusion band, based in Budapest. The Young group of 8 musicians- founded in 2023 by the singer and band leader who also lends her name to the band- made its’ debut at the 2024 MÜPA Jazz Showcase, where they successfully won one of the main prizes, the Audience Award. Not content with writing original songs and sweeping her listeners off their feet with her vocals and stage presence, Kriszta Koncz also fronts the band, consisting of a piano, a bass, a guitar, a trumpet, a saxophone, a cello and drums. The songs are rooted in jazz, interwoven with the pop and American folk sounds of the 1960s and 1970s. The arrangements done by Ábel Tompa have received great praise as well and helped shape the ensemble’s distinctive sound. Most of the group’s members are professional jazz musicians. Each of them has a unique musical past, with their studies and inspirations stretching from jazz and classical music to pop, folk and theatre music. The songs of the Koncz Kriszta Group are performed by this thrilling musical collective. The tracks tackles a range of different topics, yet all still possess a clearly discernible style. Just like the music itself, the singer’s lyrics – written in English reflect on momentary moods, personal experiences and visions, imbued with the colors of nostalgia and melancholy. The Group’s first EP called “Travel in Time” was released in February 2025.
