Join us at the Buckingham Old Gaol Museum for Heritage Open Day this year!
This years theme is "Architecture," which is perfect for us and our link to local hero, Sir George Gilbert Scott, architect of The Albert Memorial, and many others!
Sir George was born in Gawcott in 1811 and became one of the most famous British architects of all time. Over 800 buildings were designed or altered by him, including Midland Grand Hotel, King's College Chapel, London, the University of Glasgow, Buckingham Old Gaol, and Buckingham's chantry chapel, all in his famous Gothic Revival style.
With free entry to the museum, free walking tours around Buckingham's best loved buildings, free art activities for children and adults, and a look at our local hero Sir George, this is a day you do not want to miss!
