As winter begins to fade, the earth begins to stir and what better way to celebrate the onset of spring and the festival of Imbolc - the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox - than by crafting your very own Saint Brigid’s cross!
Traditional Saint Brigid's crosses have been made for hundreds of years and as a symbol of creativity and new growth are used to honour and welcome the new spring season.Traditionally these celtic crosses would have been placed above a door or barn to remind those who passed through of new beginnings and fresh starts.
You'll have the chance to make two different styles of the traditional Saint Brigid's Cross using locally sourced traditional materials, while diving into Celtic tales of folklore, tradition, and the interconnectivity of all living things.
If you have a favourite ribbon you'd like to weave into your cross then feel free to bring it along - red, green, and white work best for this time of year.
Whether you’re celebrating Imbolc, connecting with Saint Brigid’s spirit, or seeking to weave more intention into your life, this workshop offers a meaningful way to honour this sacred season.
The workshop takes place in the enchanting Wyrd and Whimsy store in Cullen, a haven filled with mystical treasures to meet all your magickal needs. During the session, the store will be closed to the public, offering an exclusive and intimate experience for our group.
