I’m sat half sunk in a beat up leather armchair. Dense smoke coils upward from my hand, where a cigarette hangs lazily between my fingers.
The room is pitch black.
A 2015 Asus laptop lies on the floor, casting solitary strands of light from its LED display. Slowly, one clip fades into the next. Lost in thought, my eye catches a few dead pixels and I realize I'm watching old memories of myself.
Nostalgia quickly gives way to confusion as I stop recognizing what's on the screen. The unattended cigarette lets its ash fall, searing into my finger. I drop it with a sharp cry.
These aren't my memories anymore.
