MONOKROM is an alt-punk trio from Timișoara, Romania, blending raw punk rock energy with
lyrical honesty and a distinctly urban edge. Since forming in 2016, the band has evolved from
high-school rehearsals to becoming one of the most exciting names in Romania’s alternative
scene.
Their music draws on themes of existential tension, fleeting summers, and everyday city life, merging punk rock grit with melodic sensibilities. Across their two studio albums Sirene de
ambulanță (2020) and MANTRE (2023). MONOKROM has crafted an intense sonic identity, from moments of quiet reflection to bursts of unrestrained power.
Live, they deliver high-energy, emotionally charged performances, whether headlining local shows, playing major festivals, or sharing the stage with some of Romania’s most respected rock acts. In 2024, they were awarded Best Rock Band at the Timișoara Music Awards, and their single Vara fără sfârșit held the No. 1 spot on Radio Guerrilla’s Top Show chart for weeks.
Currently, MONOKROM is working on their third studio album a more mature and refined take on their alt-punk sound with the first single, Fereastra ta, set to debut live on September 30,
2025, at Control Club.
