Too Much Light
Makes the Baby Go Blind
by Greg Allen
directed by Shannon Mullarkey
Underwriting Available
Auditions August 25 & 26
Performances October 16 - 18
Having opened in 1988 and still playing today as the longest-running show in Chicago history, Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind is an ensemble experiment in presenting "30 Plays in 60 Minutes." Each two-minute play is performed in random order with an interactive audience. An onstage 60-minute timer keeps everyone honest. Go!
Auditions will consist of improvisational games and cold reads from the script. Wear comfortable clothing and be ready to move.
This is an ensemble cast without any limitations: all ages, genders, sizes, ethnicities, abilities, and experience levels are welcome!
Performances will be located at StageCenter, but, due to the fact that rehearsals and performances for Exit Laughing are running concurrently, rehearsals will occur primarily in the homes of the Director and Asst. Director. Both are within a few miles of StageCenter.
