In this exclusive workshop, percussionist Dhu Messias will guide you through a unique rhythmic immersion into the main genres of traditional forró. Throughout the workshop, you will uncover the secrets behind the tempos and rhythms that define this lively and vibrant music.
🎵About the Instructor:
With an established and award-winning career, Dhu Messias began his musical journey at the age of 7 in São Paulo, playing in the children's bateria of Rosas de Ouro. His passion for forró was born at home, listening to legends like Jackson do Pandeiro and Luiz Gonzaga with his grandmother, and blossomed with the Forró Universitário movement.
A graduate in drums and general percussion from OMB, Dhu has performed with several prominent trios and was recognized as the best zabumbeiro at the Festival Nacional de Forró de Itaúnas (FENFIT). Since 2019, he has lived in France, bringing northeastern culture to stages across Europe.
