Mentality in Dub. The title says it all… Dub has always been at the center of our sound and we felt like it was time to honor this bond again with a proper session. So let’s celebrate dub in true Mentality fashion, with exciting producers/DJs who each have their own take on the genre.
Om Unit (Acid Dub Studies Live), the alias of English producer and DJ Jim Coles, has been a pioneering force in electronic music since the late 2000s. Renowned for blending genres like jungle, techno, dubstep, ambient, and footwork, while continuously challenging conventional boundaries. His acclaimed releases—including Threads, Inversion, Self, and the Acid Dub Studies series which he will perform live at this event—have made him a respected and influential voice in the global electronic music scene.
Elisethere is a French selector who blends classic 90s roots reggae with digital dub and steppa sounds from the 2000s. Using a dubsiren to add her own touch, she creates sets that reflect both the foundations of Jamaican reggae and the evolution of UK dub culture.
Freud, real name Fred Canelas, is a standout producer in Lisbon’s bass music scene. A founding member of Mais Baixo Soundsystem and This Way Records, he’s been shaping sound for over a decade, exploring styles from dub and 2-step to hip-hop and dubstep. Recently, Freud has been diving deeper into dub, marked by his vinyl debut on Moth Club, featuring a remix from Versa. With a second LP and diverse collaborations lined up for 2025, he continues to expand his sonic reach.
