LUMINOUS FEST : MIXED WASTE + JUNKYARDPOOL - LIVE CONCERT - FREE ENTRANCE

The Belgian music platform Luminous Dash is now also organizing Luminous Fest concerts at Le Cheval Marin. The goal of these performances is to shine a spotlight on emerging talent. For our first edition, we’ve selected two young indie pop-punk bands made up of musicians who are still in school — but already overflowing with talent.

The first band is MIXED WASTE, formed in 2022 at Trix in Antwerp under the watchful eye of Anne-Sophie Ooghe from High Hi. Since then, they’ve built a solid reputation as an energetic live act, with a frontman who roams every corner of the venue to unleash his demons. Their post-punk sound is reminiscent of early Fontaines D.C.

Next up is JUNKYARDPOOL. This Ghent-based trio is no longer a complete unknown — earlier this year, they were among the nine finalists of De Nieuwe Lichting on Studio Brussel. Their debut single Bernaar could be described as a Ramones song reimagined by the Pixies. A band you’ll definitely be hearing more about in the future!
