JUIF·VES EN BELGIQUE CONTRE LE GÉNOCIDE COMMIS PAR ISRAËL À GAZA

Nous, Juif·ves de Belgique, dénonçons le génocide en cours à Gaza depuis plus d’un an et demi et le blocus total imposé par Israël, qui prive délibérément la population d’eau, de nourriture et de médicaments. Nous condamnons les choix politiques éminemment racistes des dirigeants israéliens qui discriminent, oppriment et massacrent les Palestinien·nes.
Israël ne nous représente pas. En prétendant erronément représenter l’ensemble des Juif·ves, le gouvernement israélien associe les communautés juives du monde entier à ses crimes inacceptables. Nous ne pouvons admettre que la lutte, nécessaire, contre l’antisémitisme soit instrumentalisée pour justifier à la fois des crimes de guerres et contre l’humanité, une coupable indulgence envers l’État qui les commet et une tendance à criminaliser celles et ceux qui osent les dénoncer.
Nous demandons aux autorités belges et européennes, en tant que nos représentantes, qu'elles mettent tout en œuvre pour contraindre Israël à cesser son offensive meurtrière à Gaza et à lever son blocus sur la nourriture et l’aide humanitaire. Nous appelons également à la reconnaissance inconditionnelle de droit à l’auto-détermination du peuple palestinien.
Nous demandons à la Belgique et l’Union Européenne :
qu’elles imposent un embargo militaire complet sur Israël ;
qu’elles suspendent l’Accord d’association de l’UE avec Israël, en vertu de l’article 2 relatif au respect des droits humains ;
qu'elles renforcent leurs efforts en vue de garantir sans délai l’accès à l’aide humanitaire et à la reconstruction, et prennent des sanctions si les autorités israéliennes continuent de s’y opposer ;
qu’elles veillent rigoureusement au respect du droit international en prenant des sanctions à l’égard des dirigeants politiques et militaires coupables de violations, en soutenant les enquêtes en cours de la Cour pénale internationale (CPI), et en arrêtant les personnes poursuivies pour crimes internationaux lorsqu’elles se trouvent sur leur territoire.

For more than a year and a half, Israel has been committing a genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. Israel's current total blockade of Gaza is leading to catastrophic levels of starvation through the intentional withholding of food, water and medicine. As Jews in Belgium, it is essential for us to clearly oppose this cruelty. We absolutely reject the eminently racist political choices of the Israeli leaders, that are discriminating against, oppressing and massacring Palestinians.
The State of Israel does not represent us. By falsely claiming to represent Jews everywhere, the Israeli authorities identify Jewish communities in Europe and globally with its unacceptable crimes. As Jews in Belgium, we cannot allow the necessary fight against anti-Semitism to be instrumentalized by Israel and its European allies to justify both war crimes and crimes against humanity. We object to European states’ complicit leniency towards Israel and the attempts to criminalize those who denounce these crimes.
We ask the Belgian and European authorities, as our representatives, to do everything in their power to force Israel to cease its murderous offensive in Gaza, lift its blockade on food and humanitarian aid, to fulfill its obligations under international law and unconditionally recognize the right of the Palestinian people for self-determination.
We demand that Belgium and the European Union
Impose a complete military embargo on Israel;
Suspend the EU's Association Agreement with Israel, in accordance with Article 2 regarding respect for human rights as the foundation of this agreement;
Increase efforts to guarantee immediate access to humanitarian aid and reconstruction, and impose sanctions in case this is not done;
Ensure respect for international law by imposing sanctions on political and military leaders guilty of violations, by supporting ongoing investigations by the International Criminal Court (ICC), and by arresting those prosecuted when they are on their territory.

Al meer dan anderhalf jaar pleegt Israël genocide op het Palestijnse volk in Gaza. De huidige totale blokkade van Gaza door Israël leidt tot catastrofale hongersnood: Israël houdt voedsel, water en medicatie opzettelijk achter. Als Joden in België is het voor ons essentieel dat we ons duidelijk verzetten tegen deze gruwel. We verwerpen de uitgesproken racistische politieke keuzes van de Israëlische leiders, die de Palestijnen ontmenselijken, onderdrukken en uitmoorden.
De staat Israël vertegenwoordigt ons niet en spreekt niet in onze naam. Door valselijk te beweren dat zij Joden overal vertegenwoordigen, associëren de Israëlische autoriteiten Joodse gemeenschappen in Europa en wereldwijd met hun onaanvaardbare misdaden. Als Joden in België staan we niet toe dat de noodzakelijke strijd tegen antisemitisme door Israël en zijn Europese bondgenoten wordt ingezet om zowel oorlogsmisdaden als misdaden tegen de menselijkheid te rechtvaardigen. We verzetten ons tegen de medeplichtige toegeeflijkheid van Europese staten tegenover Israël en tegen hun pogingen om zij die deze misdaden aanklagen te criminaliseren.
We vragen de Belgische en Europese overheden, als onze vertegenwoordigers, om alles in het werk te stellen om Israël te dwingen om haar dodelijke offensief in Gaza stop te zetten, de blokkade op voedsel- en humanitaire hulpkonvooien op te heffen en onvoorwaardelijk het recht op zelfbeschikking van het Palestijnse volk te erkennen.
Daarom eisen wij dat België en de Europese Unie:
Israël een volledig militair embargo opleggen
de associatieovereenkomst tussen de EU en Israël opschorten, op basis van artikel 2, dat respect voor de mensenrechten vereist;
inspanningen opdrijven om onmiddellijke humanitaire hulp en wederopbouw mogelijk te maken en sancties opleggen indien de Israëlische autoriteiten dat blijven blokkeren;
strikt toezien op de naleving van het internationaal recht door sancties op te leggen aan politieke en militaire leiders die zich schuldig maken aan schendingen, door de lopende onderzoeken van het Internationaal Strafhof te ondersteunen, en door personen die vervolgd worden omwille van schendingen van het internationaal recht te arresteren zodra ze zich op hun grondgebied bevinden.
