Grant Perez, plus connu sous le nom de grentperez, est un chanteur et auteur-compositeur australien d'origine philippine. Né le 4 décembre 2001 à Sydney, il se fait remarquer dès l'âge de 13 ans en publiant des reprises sur YouTube depuis sa chambre. Son premier single, "Cherry Wine", sorti en 2021, devient rapidement viral, atteignant la première place du classement Spotify Viral en Australie, au Canada et à Singapour.
En 2023, il sort l'EP "When We Were Younger", une œuvre de sept titres explorant la nostalgie. Reconnu pour son style mêlant pop indie et R&B, grentperez a été nommé "Emerging Songwriter of the Year" aux APRA Music Awards de 2024. En mars 2025, il a dévoilé son premier album studio, "Backflips in a Restaurant", accompagné d'une tournée nord-américaine de 36 dates. Son ascension fulgurante témoigne de son talent à fusionner des influences rétro avec une sensibilité contemporaine, séduisant ainsi un public international.

Met zijn 23 jaar heeft de Australische singer/songwriter grentperez zijn eigen popgenre onder de knie. Hij charmeert publiek over de hele wereld met lieflijk gecroonde liefdesliedjes die een briljante balans vinden tussen dromerige oprechtheid en luchtig plezier. Sinds hij voor het eerst op de scene verscheen met zijn als goud gecertificeerde debuutsingle ‘Cherry Wine’, heeft de in Sydney geboren muzikant zijn magnetische liveshow naar podia over de hele wereld gebracht.
Na zijn overwinning als Emerging Songwriter of the Year tijdens de 2024 APRA Awards heeft grentperez zojuist zijn debuutalbum ‘Backflips in a Restaurant’ uitgebracht – een spannende evolutie van zijn roots als slaapkamerpop-sensatie, waarbij hij elementen van r&b, indie-folk, pop-punk, symfonische pop, seventies softrock en nog veel meer mengt tot zijn meest gedurfde en originele oeuvre tot nu toe.
