Let's go to Antwerp by train and visit the exhibition "Nachtreis" by Belgian artist Hans Op de Beeck at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts (=KMSKA). Then we will have lunch together (not included in the price) and after lunch you can do some shopping, visit another cultural institution, wander through the beautiful streets of Antwerp or simply sit in a café and watch the world go by.
At a mutually convenient time we will meet up again and take the train back to Brussels together. Estimated arrival time in Brussels is 18:00.
The museum writes to following on its website: "Visual artist Hans Op de Beeck creates one large, experiential trail through a fictional, mysterious place. It is a kind of enigmatic, dark evocation of a deserted nocturnal park, in which all kinds of images of characters, still lifes, objects, animals, architectural constructions and natural elements merge into a peculiar world.
With the title, ‘Nocturnal Journey’, the artist wants to invite the visitor to take a journey through time and space, in body and mind, in an environment that carries the silence, the meditative but also the darkness and latent derailment of the night. He creates a journey along recognisable elements and emotions, but which can equally take us into the unknown and subconscious."
Price: 35€ (train ticket + Art for Everyone fee)
The ticket for the exhibition is not included in the price (free with Museum Pass!). It is always easiest if you get it upfront so the group doesn't have to wait for you while you queue on the day itself. Please book an entrance at 12:00. You can get your ticket via the link below:
